Mother’s Day 2013: the day when people post a Tweet/Facebook status or upload a picture showing how grateful they are to have the strongest woman in the world, and how they are lucky to be daughter/son of such a strong woman.
I really hope that people appreciate their mothers/motherly figures for more than one day. One day is not enough. And I hope it’s not just through a text or a...

Spontaneity > Routine
I have to admit that life right now is quite a routine. Wake up at 7am, Eat breakfast. Go to class. Lunch while in class. Gym. Go back home. Cook & eat dinner. Study, Sleep, then repeat. My iPhone calendar would bleep all day reminding me that Event X will be in 2 hours, Event YZ will be in 30 minutes, etc. etc. E-mails of other school events flood my phone on the daily. To put the cherry on...

Self-Care and Passion Enhances Time Management
“Do you ever study? When do you find time to go to concerts, go to community events? How do you find time to run this much?”
These are some of the common questions that I encounter on the daily when I have conversations with some of my friends and colleagues. And my answer to these questions are the same, “Yes, I make time for it. I make time to have fun. I always make time to take care of...

When people don’t care about politics b/c “politics doesn’t affect their lives”

The awkward moment when you are saying hi to your classmates in a hallway but as you get closer, it feels like the hallway just got a million times longer.
Anonymous asked: thank you for being an inspiration.

The awkward moment when you open the door for your friend and then there’s a stranger behind them so you keep the door open to let them in. And then they say “thank you” but then you didn’t really prop the door open for them. Oh goodness I’m such an a-hole sometimes.

It’s unbelievable how one opportunity can completely change the course of your life. That opportunity doesn’t have to be necessarily extravagant. It could simply be just a conversation with a friend or even just sitting down and reflecting upon your own experiences. Never lose site of the simple things in life.
Breathe in. Soak in the experience. Reflect. Respect the process. Breathe...

2012: A Bane That Turned Into A BLISSter
Woke up from my couch back home in LA. It was 9am. I got an email that my last course (biostats) final grade was posted. So I looked at my online transcript. Fingers crossed. Eyes squinting, slowly opening to take a glimpse of that potentially daunting 3-digit combination. “3.75.” I thought there must be some glitch in the system because I seriously thought I was going to flunk two of my courses....

Not a single picture can truly capture how amazing my experience is so far in this beautiful city; hence, I made a collage :P
I haven’t had a chance to delve deeply upon my experiences in this new chapter of my life and…I don’t think I will ever do so because there are just so memorable moments happening in so little time. I cannot believe it has only been a month since my program...

To shower before bed or to shower early in the...
Hmm… I still don’t understand why this is still a question that people tend to ponder on.
If you don’t shower before going to bed, then you are spreading the germs, sweat, and dead skin in your pillowcase and your bedsheets. If you shower before, then contamination is kept to a minimum. The first option is extremely practical.
I mean, you can shower again in the morning to feel awake and...

Random 11pm thoughts
DAISO is bomb diggity. This store has a lot of useful items and they cost you $1.50. If you have one near your area, you should give it a visit.
Get your In N’ Out fries well-done. It’s crunchier and it’s more scrumptious.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Kiss” album is really catchy.
I love how the iOS 6 for Apple has more emoticons. 😤😴💭🐢🐝🐜😎

R.I.P. to the 2,976 American people who lost their lives on 9/11
R.I.P. to the 48,644 Afghan and 1,690,903 Iraqi people who paid their ultimate price for a crime they did not commit.
And to the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who experience trepidation everyday.
Our country’s 9/11 is their 24/7.

Random Advice
Most of them I have learned over time and some of them are quite nerdy :P
It is good to have peace & quiet at some point during your day.
It feels good to do leisurely things alone. It is okay to say “no” to hanging out with people just so that you can spend some time alone.
Alcohol and drugs aren’t the only ways to have fun. Do something above the influence, not under....

New Beginnings.
It’s been almost a month since I moved to San Francisco. There has figuratively never been a dull day ever since I set foot in this beautiful city—figuratively because it is usually cold & gloomy where I live. It is quite a good break from the LA heat. I actually prefer the cold weather; I love bundling up, drinking my hot coffee while strolling down the street. Its beauty doesn’t just stem...

Nostalgic.
I couldn’t believe that I just left SoCal almost two weeks ago. It’s crazy how time is flying by so quickly here in San Francisco. New friends, new lifestyle, new scene.
I usually do not get homesick but here I am looking back through these photos the night before I left LA during my birthday weekend. I truly miss my friends and family despite the great things happening so far up north. I am...

ROARING LEO at XXIII
When you hit this age, people say, “it all goes downhill from here,” but honestly this was not the case for me this past year. 2012 is probably my BEST year so far for countless reasons. Blessings continue to come in my doorstep.
First and foremost, my relationships with my family continue to strengthen and crystallize. Being back home in LA a month before moving to the Bay gave me the...
