My hair was not cooperating today but it’s all good since I have some better news! My boss was nice enough to put off my work start until the end of October because I want to ensure that I am fully focused in completing my Pharmacy school applications. So after finishing my apps a few days ago, I finally have time gettin’ that mula. During my getaway to LA last weekend, I received an e-mail from my boss saying that a client is already waiting for me! It was a good offer too since it was higher than my expected hour pay rate. The client, who was a mother of a 9th grader, wanted her son to get extra help with his geometry and honors biology class. He was doing fairly well in both classes. He was getting B’s in both classes but then she wanted her son to get A’s in both courses.

My first tutoring session went pretty well. I helped him proofread his lab report for his biology honors class. It was about photosynthesis. The main thing that students forget about writing lab reports is following instructions! He was on the right track but I just had to ensure that he was following the provided lab report guidelines. 

He really enjoyed my tutoring style and his mother signed the contract to be her son’s tutor! Luckily, they were Filipino too but I was not sure if his parents spoke Tagalog or not. It would be nice if they do. First client success! I am hoping to rack up up to 4 clients. For this particular client, I will probably be working 6 hours/week. It will pay the bills though! Amen!
